$2,000,000 settlement for woman who suffered severe and permanent brain damage after being struck by a San Francisco taxi cab while crossing the street

On Sept. 11, 2010, Tanya Thienngern, 42, a teacher who had come to San Francisco to attend a festival, went out to the Supper Club, a night club in the SOMA area of San Francisco. Tanya and her friends spent the night dancing until the club closed. When Tanya and her friends exited the Supper Club, they lingered outside for 10 to 20 minutes, mingling and talking to people. Tanya began to walk across the street to speak to a few people on the other side when she was struck by a speeding Yellow Cab taxi cab.

Tanya was hit by the right side of the cab and rolled up onto the hood, hitting the windshield and smashing it. She was thrown into the air, landing approximately 20 feet in front of where the cab stopped. She suffered multiple-system trauma with injuries to her left shoulder, left leg, pelvis, face, and head, and further suffered cardiac arrest at the emergency room. The collision left Tanya permanently disabled and unable to care for herself.
